The epidemic that has plagued the world for several years will finally dissipate early this year, and all sectors of society will gradually return to normal as various anti-epidemic measures are lifted. Everything is changing. Even during the epidemic, we have not stopped because of this. We have been actively providing various support services to grassroots and single-parent families in need, and at the same time, we are preparing for the return to normal.
This year, we were fortunate to receive funding from Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and Women's Commission, Stay Confident - Women's Career Development Program. The purpose of the project is to provide women with various resources and support to help them find their own interests and then develop their interests and expertise,so that they can more easily build self-confidence, expand their social circles, rejoin society, and become selfreliant. To realize the spirit of our association´s mission of “strengthen ourselves, help ourselves, then helpothers”.
"Travelling brings about far greater benefit than mere book learning." After the epidemic, life returns to normal. Our association is trying to organize exchange groups, hoping to encourage people in the community to go out more and broaden their knowledge. In January 2024, we received sponsorship from the Youth Development Committee under the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Government to organize the " The Belt and Road Initiative, One City, One Taste" Hong Kong-Chengdu youth exchange project. A total of 30 young people aged 18-30 from single-parent families and grassroots families participated in the project. The exchange group visited important cultural, educational and nature conservation institutions in Chengdu and surrounding cities in Sichuan Province, such as the Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center, Sanxingdui Museum, etc., allowing participants to understand the economic and social development of Sichuan, and also encouraged them to study hard and be active upward, laying the foundation for future development.
The society is changing rapidly. In the new year, our Association will continue to work hard to promote different service plans and provide more diversified services that are more relevant to the current social situation for singleparent families from various aspects. We will practice the association's spirit of " strengthen ourselves, help ourselves, then help others "; we also hope that we can expand the scale of the association in different regions in the coming year, open new service units and projects, so that more citizens can know the association, so that the association can serve more single parents and families in need serve. We hope to support them with actions and let them know that we are with them on the road to single parenthood.
